Insta360 ONE R Twin Edition and 1-Inch Edition modular action cameras with interchangeable lens design announced


360-degree cameras are gaining popularity day by day due to the different perspectives that they offer and are now being used by a lot of content creators. GoPro, popular for its action cameras launched its 360-degree camera, but back in 2017, Insta360 launched the Insta360 One 4K 360-degree camera which became popular, and later the company launched the Insta360 ONE X. Following that now, Insta360 has announced its new ‘Insta360 ONE R’ which is a module action camera that gives users the freedom to change multiple lenses.

Insta360 ONE R comes with three different lens mods – a Dual-Lens 360 Mod, the 4K Wide-Angle Mod, and a 1-Inch Wide Angle Mod and the 1-inch Mod lens has been co-engineered with Leica. The 1-Inch Edition sports a 1-inch sensor with f/3.2 aperture and shoots videos at 5.3K resolution at 30fps, 4K at 30fps, and can capture 19MP still pictures. It now comes with an upgraded FlowState stabilization algorithm that provides gimbal-like stabilization and works when shooting in 360 or wide-angle as well.

Furthermore, it sports a reversible touch screen, is IPX8 certified which means it is waterproof up to 5 meters, supports 5GHz WiFi, and features a 6-axis Gyroscope. Other features include ‘Color Plus’ for an automatic color grade, Night Shot, Slow Motion, a new Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) mode that lets you shoot 3, 5, 7 or 9 exposures at once, FlashCut auto-editing, etc. It also supports Voice Control, external microphone, Airpods connection, and control through the Apple Watch app. Lastly, it packs a 1190mAh battery and charges through a USB Type-C port.

Coming to the Insta360 ONE R Twin Edition, it comes with a Dual-Lens 360 Mod, and a 4K Wide-Angle Mod. It can shoot 360-degree videos and shift to 4K wide-angle lens as well, thanks to the interchangeable lens design, and the 4K Mod supports up to 8x slow-mo. The Dual-Lens Mod has an aperture of f/2.0 and the 4K Mod has an aperture of f/2.8. When it comes to video recording, the 4K Wide-Angle Mod can shoot up to 4K at 60fps and the Dual-Lens Mod can shoot up to 5.7K at 30fps.

Furthermore, it features the Invisible Selfie Stick feature that hides the Selfie Stick and just like the 1-inch Edition, this one also is IPX8 certified which means it is waterproof up to 5 meters, supports 5GHz WiFi, and features a 6-axis Gyroscope.
