OPPO F15 Unboxing and First Impressions

OPPO today launched the F15, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘F series’ and the successor of last year’s F11 smartphone in India. It has several improvements over the predecessor that includes an AMOLED screen, more RAM, improved quad rear cameras and more. Check out the unboxing video below.

The phone has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio and a screen to body ratio of 90.7% with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P70 SoC with 8GB RAM and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with ColorOS 6.1, but it should get ColorOS 7.0 based on Android 10 soon. It features in-display fingerprint sensor 3.0, which offers one of the fastest fingerprint unlocking experiences of just 0.32 seconds, and features hardware based anti-forging feature, according to the company.

It has the waterdrop notch that houses the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors and a 16-megapixel camera. There is a small bezel below the display.

The power button is present on the right, volume rockers and dedicated SIM and microSD slots are present on the left and the loudspeaker grill, USB Type-C port, microphone and the 3.5mm audio jack are present on the bottom. On the top there is a secondary microphone.

Unlike the F11, this comes with dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots in addition to 128GB internal storage.

The phone has quad rear cameras with 48-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, 8MP 119° ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.25 aperture and also 3cm macro option, 2MP mono lens and 2MP depth sensor with 1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture. It has AI scene recognition, Beautify option, nightscape and night portrait. There is anti-shake feature that uses EIS software and gyroscope hardware-based anti-shake technology. It has a gradient finish on the back that is inspired from dance by colour in the light, like the sunlight reflected upon the water. It is just 7.9mm thick and weighs 172 grams. Under the hood the phone packs a 4000mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charge fast charging that can charge the phone up to 10%  in just 5 minutes and 50% in 30 minutes, 26% faster than VOOC 2.0.

The OPPO F15 also comes in Lightening Black color, is priced at Rs. 19,990 and will be available pre-order from Flipkart and Amazon.in as well as offline stores starting from today, January 16th and will go on sale from January 24th.
