1MORE Piston Fit Wireless Review

Wired earphone market dominated for quite a long time and over the course of years, users are transitioning to wireless audio, thanks to smartphone manufacturers (not all) removing the most liked 3.5mm audio jack. While truly wireless earbuds are becoming popular swiftly among consumers, there are a lot of users still who prefer wireless neckband earphones. Lately, many brands are coming up with neckband style wireless earphones and the choice is plenty for consumers to choose from. We have reviewed wireless neckband earphones from brands like Mi, realme, etc, and the latest product to join the list is 1MORE Piston Fit wireless earphones. 1More is a popular brand in the audio segment, and they have some great products like 1MORE Piston Fit (wired), 1MORE Stylish TWS, and more. Design and Build Quality

The design of the 1MORE Piston is simple and minimalistic and to an extent, similar to other offerings in the market. The material used is predominantly rubber and it gives a good grip. The earbuds are made of aluminum alloy, and they have a solid build. Coming to the fit, it doesn’t fall off easily from your ears and since the fit is subjective, in our testing, we found it to be comfortable. It comes with 45-degree oblique-angled nozzles that naturally lay in your ear canals for a tight, secure fit during extended use. Overall, when it comes to fit, the ‘Piston Fit Wireless’ won’t disappoint you.

The earbuds have magnets that snap onto each other and on paper, it looks like a convenient addition to have. But in our unit, the magnets weren’t strong enough and for the most part, it didn’t work as expected. We would have wished to see a better implementation here.

Overall, when it comes to design and build quality, 1MORE has done a good job, considering the price point of the earphones.

Sound Quality and Battery life

The Piston Fit Wireless features a 10mm dynamic driver with a titanium composite diaphragm that promises to deliver “powerful bass and exquisite detail”. It features Bluetooth 5.0 with a 10m wireless range and 32 ohms impedance.

Coming to the sound quality, the vocals are clear and even at high volumes, there is no distortion. When it comes to bass, it is not bass-heavy, but the neutral sound signature should be liked by many users and gets the job done. It has decent mids and if you are a bass lover, then you might not appreciate the bass, as mentioned earlier. Call quality through the earphones was quite good too, and the microphone output was good as well.

Furthermore, the Piston Fit wireless has dedicated controls for music playback, volume rockers, and power on/off/pairing button. It works as expected, and we did not face any issues with it. It is to be noted, there is no autoplay/pause when the magnetic earbuds are connected/disconnected. Coming to the battery life, 1More promises 8 hours of playback with the Piston Fit and in our testing, we got around 5 hours of playback on a single charge and you can quickly charge the earphone (takes around 1 hour for full charge) through the micro USB port (we would have wished to see a USB Type-C port).

Conclusion

1MORE Piston Fit Wireless is available for as low as Rs. 1999 and is available to buy from 1More.com, Amazon.in, Flipkart, and other e-commerce platforms. So, should you buy the 1More Piston Fit wireless? If you are in the market for a neckband styled wireless earphone under Rs. 2,000, the Piston Fit is definitely recommended and gets most things right.
