Unicode, which is the international consortium that dictates computing industry standards has released its Emoji 13.0 standard for the year 2020. It includes 117 new emoji such as a smiling face with tear, Polar bear, a pinched finger, including 55 gender and skin-tone variants.
Typically, the new emoji’s appear in smartphones sometime around September/October with some manufacturers releasing it earlier. Some of the notable ones include a Santa Claus, transgender flags, people hugging, Pinata and more.
