Samsung, the developers of defence-grade Knox security solutions has announced yet another Secure Element turnkey solution with Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (CC EAL) 5+ certification. The security chip (S3K250AF) accompanied by its optimised software is capable of protecting private data on an isolated data storage.
The Secure Element turnkey solution is designed to be a dedicated tamper-resistant strongbox that can store confidential and cryptographic data like their PIN numbers, passwords and more. The S3K250AF chip for the Secure Element working in tandem with optimized secure OS and hardware-level protection has earned the platform CC EAL 5+ certification.
Many smartphones these days already have hardware level encryption that can protect sensitive information. The new Secure Element provides another layer of security for users, defending against reverse engineering, power glitches, laser attacks and more. The new SE solution is currently in mass production and more notably, it is used in Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series smartphones.
