Wired earphone market dominated for quite a long time and over the course of years, users are transitioning to wireless audio, thanks to smartphone manufacturers (not all) removing the most liked 3.5mm audio jack. While truly wireless earbuds are becoming popular swiftly among consumers, there are a lot of users still who prefer wireless neckband earphones.
Lately, many brands are coming up with neckband style wireless earphones and the choice is plenty for consumers to choose from. We have reviewed wireless neckband earphones from brands like Mi, realme, 1MORE Piston Fit wireless, Noise Tune Charge, etc, and the latest product to join the list is Rs. 1500 worth Mulo Wonderloop 500. In case you aren’t aware, Mulo is a new Kolkata-based audio brand that launched speakers and earphones. It recently launched the Soultrip 500 (review) which is its budget in-Ear Earphones. We tested the Wonderloop 500 for some time and let us see if it is worth buying or not.

Design and Build Quality
Wonderloop 500 has a simple, minimalistic design and is similar to other offerings in the market. The neckband and the earbuds are predominantly made of rubber and plastic material which offers a good grip and has a solid build. It doesn’t fall off easily from your ears and since the fit is subjective, during our usage, we found the fit to be snug and comfortable.
The earbuds have magnets that snap onto each other, but the magnets aren’t strong enough unlike similar offerings in the market. There is no autoplay/pause upon separating the magnets apart and we would have wished to see that feature here. Nevertheless, the build quality is quite good, considering the pricing of this product.
Pairing and Connectivity
Mulo Wonderloop 500 features the CSR QCC3003 chipset and connects to your smartphone through Bluetooth 5.0. The pairing is simple and straight forward. Long press the power button to enter pairing mode (for the first time) and once paired, it auto connects quickly when turned on. In our testing, we did not face any sorts of disconnection or pairing issues, and it worked flawlessly.
It also comes with in-line controls that let you control the volume, playback, and answer or reject calls. Here’s how you can do the same

Sound Quality
The Wonderloop 500 features a 10mm driver with “Deep Bass Sound”. As it supports Bluetooth 5.0, the wireless range is 10 meters and it works as expected. Coming to the sound quality, the Wonderloop 500 is bass-heavy, delivers punchy bass and indeed has Deep Bass Sound. It supports Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) standard and it can be turned on/off if your smartphone supports it. Moving on, the vocals are clear and there is no distortion at peak volume levels. If you are a bass lover, you will enjoy listening to bassy music on the Wonderloop 500.
Call quality is also an important factor to be considered when purchasing wireless earphones and the Wonderloop 500 has a nifty feature which most other wireless earphones in this segment have. The Wonderloop 500 has call vibration alert which alerts you about incoming calls even when the earphones are not plugged into your ears, and it is a great addition by Mulo. We wish more brands add this feature in their earphones. Having said that, the vibration is high to our liking and it could have been toned down.
Battery Life
Coming to the battery life, Mulo promises 9 hours of playback at 80% volume and in our testing, we got over 6 hours of playback at 60% volume on a single charge. You can charge the earphone through the micro USB port, but we would have wished to see a USB Type-C port.
Conclusion
Mulo Wonderloop 500 sells for Rs. 1499 on Amazon.in (available for as low as Rs. 1399 during offer period) and comes in a single Black color option. For Rs. 1499, it offers great bass, solid build quality, and decent battery life. Although Mulo is relatively new in the audio market, they have done a good job with the Wonderloop 500 and built a good product for Rs. 1499. If you are in the market for a wireless neckband earphones and like the bassy sound that the Wonderloop 500 produces, then do consider buying this product.
