Samsung S Voice to be discontinued from June 1, 2020

Among the voice assistants that common on our smartphones now, one of the earliest attempts was S Voice from Samsung. It was the predecessor to Samsung’s Bixby, and they have announced that they will finally kill support for S Voice completely from June 1, 2020.

The voice assistant first made an appearance on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and then came in-built in subsequent phones. Samsung is known to have their first party alternatives for nearly every service and the S Voice was their voice assistant app, sort of as a competitor to Apple’s Siri. Samsung later introduced their new voice assistant platform called Bixby, which was a lot more advanced.

S Voice remained unpopular throughout its existence and Samsung is finally deciding to kill the service effective June 1, 2020. The affected devices include:
