It seems like the Epic Games store is trying to compete with Steam by offering similar mega sales where games are offered with cheap prices or sometimes even free. The latest Epic Games Store “Epic Mega Sales” is raising quite a bit of attention as it offers the massively popular “Grand Theft Auto 5” for absolutely free.
The Epic Games store has launched an initiative recently where they would offer a free game every Thursday at 11am ET during the Mega Sale 2020. The offer would last a week, during which users can claim the game for free. Some of the games offered recently included Just Cause 4, World War Z, etc. This week’s game is one of the most popular games of all time from Rockstar Games Studio, Grand Theft Auto 5.
Epic Games is offering the GTA 5 Premium edition for zero rupees to all users on the store. The Premium Edition will include:
- The complete Grand Theft Auto V story experience
- Grand Theft Auto Online
- Gameplay upgrades and content like The Doomsday Heist, Gunrunning, Smuggler’s Run, Bikers, etc.
- Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack that includes $1,000,000 bonus cash in GTA Online.
The sale ends on Mays 21st, 2020 so be quick if you want to avail the offer. When the sale began yesterday it did cause quite a bit of rush into the Epic Games Store, causing their servers to crash for a few hours. They do seem to be back up online now, however it is unclear as to whether a surge in traffic will cause it to crash again, so if you wish to purchase the game now, click here.
