Instagram testing feature to show all Stories in one screen

Instagram has been discovered to be testing a new feature that shows all Stories in one screen. Instead of showing Stories in just a single row at the top of the feed, there will be a screen that shows all the Stories posted by those accounts that a user follows.

The feature was spotted by Twitter user, Julian Gamboa, who posted screenshots of the new UI. In it, at the top of the user’s feed, Stories are shown in two rows of clickable circle icons and at the bottom is an option to “See all Stories”.

Clicking on it will expand the Stories to a full page view, showing all the Stories posted in the last 24 hours from accounts followed by the user. The feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users, and will roll it out globally once testing is complete.

This UI change is evidence of Instagram trying to increase the user engagement for Stories. Over the years, they have steadily been adding new features to entice users to use Stories more, with the idea of attracting advertisers to use the Stories platform for their ads.
