Microsoft Xbox One X and Xbox One S digital edition production discontinued

The official launch event for Microsoft’s next gen console, the Xbox Series X, is only a few months away and as expected, Microsoft has officially stopped production of the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition consoles. The only current generation console that is still being manufactured is the regular Xbox One S.

Demand for current-gen consoles did see an increase for both Microsoft and Sony during the pandemic as people remained quarantined at home. To create hype for their next-gen consoles, they have already revealed the internal specs, overall design for their respective consoles and even showcased its improved performance with gameplay footage.

The Xbox Series X will feature an 8-core AMD CPU that is based on the Zen 2 architecture and an AMD RDNA 2 based GPU. Complementing these are 16GB of GDDR6 memory and a 1TB custom NVME SSD.

Microsoft is also said to be working on a cheaper next-gen, codenamed “Lockhart” that will be launched alongside the Xbox Series X. One of the last details yet to be revealed for the Xbox Series X is its price, which is, at the moment, anyone’s guess.
