Google has announced new updates to the Chrome browser that are aimed at improving productivity. These include updates to the Tab Groups feature, a tablet-mode friendly way to navigate tabs, tab previews, the ability to fill PDFs before saving them and more.
Google introduced Tab Groups back in May as a way to organize multiple under labels created by the user. Improving upon this, Google has now added the ability to collapse and expand your tab groups, so it’s easier for users to see the ones they need to access.
Using Chrome in Windows tablet mode has gotten easier as users now have access to a larger touchscreen-optimized interface when a user wishes to view, organize, switch between open tabs in the browser.
Another useful feature Google is testing in Chrome Beta is the ability to preview a tab when you hover the mouse over it. The feature has been present in other browsers like Microsoft’s Edge and its great to finally see it coming Google Chrome.
Chrome’s PDF capabilities are getting an upgrade too. Users will soon be able to fill out PDF forms and save the inputs directly from Chrome.
Users of Chrome mobile will now be prompted to switch to an already open-tab if they start typing the URL in the address bar. And finally, Chrome is making it easier to share URLs with the ability to share them via QR codes.
All of the above features will be rolling out to all Chrome users gradually over the next few weeks.
