MediaTek has announced Dimensity 1000C, 5G smartphone SoC which made its debut first in the United States on the LG VELVET on T-Mobile with 600 MHz and 2.5 GHz 5G spectrum. It has four ARM-Cortex-A77 CPU cores clocked at 2.0GHz and four power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores operating up to 2GHz and Five ARM Mali-G57 GPU cores. The MediaTek AI processing unit (APU 3.0) combines three different types of AI processors.
The Dimensity 1000C has AV1 HDR on Netflix, and AV1 video streaming on YouTube. MediaTek said that it is also working with Twitch to bring AV1 video streaming to mobile. Other features include Dual Voice Wake Up (VoW) function that minimizes the power of applications in the Android OS such as the always-on Google Assistant, Dual Display support and more.
