Xiaomi India launches ‘Mi Store on Wheels’ to bring retail experience to doorsteps


Xiaomi today launched its Mi Store on Wheels, moving retail platform that aims to bring store like experience to customers’ doorsteps and bringing availability in the far corners of our nation. Xiaomi India CEO Manu Kumar Jain said that the company offline team has  completed this project in just 40 days with an aim to bring Xiaomi products to customers in villages and non-metro cities.

The vehicles have distinct serial number on its doors, but the company is yet to reveal the list of cities or states these stores will roll out. Back in May the company launched Mi Commerce, a hyperlocal solution that allows users to purchase any Xiaomi product from a nearby retail store while staying at home.

Other than smartphones, including, the Redmi 9 series, Note 9 series and Redmi 9A, the Mi Store on Wheels will also sell other Xiaomi products like Mi Smart TV, Mi Box 4K, Mi TV Stick, Mi CCTV Cameras, Mi Sports Bluetooth Earphones, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2, Redmi Earbuds S, Mi Sunglasses, Mi Powerbanks, and Chargers.

Mi India currently has more than 75 Mi Homes, over 45 Mi Studios, over 8,000 Mi Preferred Partners and more than 4,000 Large format Retail partners, along with 3,000 Mi Stores in the country.

The Mi Store on Wheels is aimed to bring the Mi Store showroom experience in areas that have limited access. It will be a disruptor in changing the dynamics of the retail business in our rural markets, and  it follows all the necessary hygiene and safety practices, while regulating crowds and maintaining social distance, MSoW outlets will be fully safe for consumers to visit.
