MediaTek MT9602 AI-Enabled Smart TV SoC announced; to power Motorola Smart TVs with Android 10


MediaTek has announced the launch of their newest AI-enabled Smart TV SoC — the MT9602. It is targeted towards smart TVs with 4K HDR displays, with in-built AI-enhancement technologies such as AI-PQ (picture quality) and AI-AQ (audio quality) along with support for HDMI 2.1a, global HDR codecs and more.

The MT9602 features an ARM Cortex-A53 based quad-core CPU and the ARM Mali-G52 MC1 GPU inside. It can support up to three HDMI 2.1a compliant ports, Dolby Atmos surround sound, AV1 and AVS2 decoding and multiple HDR standards such as Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, BBC HLG, etc.

Also engineered into the chip is MediaTek specific technologies such as AI-PQ and AI-AQ technologies, which work together to optimize videos by improving picture and audio quality in real time.

The MediaTek MT9602 will be appearing first in Motorola’s upcoming range of Smart TVs that are slated to launch on October 9th on Flipkart. The Motorola Smart TVs will be India’s first smart TVs to be powered by Android 10.
