The much-awaited OnePlus 8T is here! The successor to the OnePlus 8 is a great package that comes with slight improvements, a redesign, and a thousand bucks extra. Here we have the unboxing and first impressions of the smartphone.

The first impression of the OnePlus 8T is very good just like this year’s OnePlus 8. The build quality is on point just like other OnePlus smartphones in the market. In terms of changes, the 8T has a flat display, a differently designed camera module (looks more like Galaxy S20′), a slightly higher refresh rate, and Warp Charger 65W technology.
We have Aquamarine Green (12GB+256GB) variant that looks gorgeous. The glossy back takes advantage of diffuse reflection, a form of light refraction that scatters light in an expansive array of angles and directions, and provides a clean, gleaming surface. The build quality, fit, and finish, the paint job is top-notch! Nothing to complain about.
The right side of the device houses a power button and alert slider switch, volume rocker on the left side. At the bottom, we have a dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille.
The front side is occupied by a 6.55-inch (1080 x 2400 pixels) Full HD+ 402 PPI 20:9 Fluid AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+, 1100 nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Just above the display, we have an earpiece that doubles up as a speaker. On the left corner, we have a punch hole with a 16MP front camera. It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and it’s fast. As per the company claims, the OnePlus 8T has a tuned color accuracy rating of JNCD ~.0.3 for life-like quality and 8192 degrees of brightness adjustment.
Turning back, we have a quad-camera setup – 48MP primary camera, 16MP 116° ultra-wide camera, 5MP 3cm macro camera, 2MP depth sensor. The phone is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 SoC with X55 5G modem that supports both NSA and SA 5G, vapour chamber that is 285% larger than the predecessor along with graphite for cooling.
The OnePlus 8T is shipped with Android 11 with OxygenOS 11 under the hood. Notably, the company has revamped OxygenOS 11 and updated with a lot of cool options like AOD, Zenmode 2.0, Funmoji (in partnership with Snapchat) and more.
It packs a 4500mAh (Twin 2250mAh batteries) and Warp Charge 65W charging that can charge the phone fully in just 39 minutes. It is equipped with 12 individual thermal monitors to keep charging temperatures at a safe level, said the company. The charger also supports up to 45W PD charging so that it supports devices such as laptops or tablets.
The OnePlus 8T comes in Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver colours, is priced at Rs. 42,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs Rs. 45,999. It will be available from Amazon.in for early access at 12 am on 16 October for Amazon Prime members and OnePlus Red Cable Club members on OnePlus.in.
