Xiaomi introduced Mi Charge Turbo 30W wireless fast charging technology last year that can charge the phone’s 4,000mAh battery up to 100% in 69 minutes, later in August this year it introduced 50W wireless fast charging in Mi 10 Ultra that can charge the phone’s 4500mAh from 0 to 100% in just 40 minutes. Today it has introduced 80W wireless fast charging technology that can charge the phone’s 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100% in just 19 minutes.
This is faster than OPPO’s 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge technology that can fully charge a 4000mAh battery in 30 minutes. Xiaomi says that this is a new industry record. Xiaomi has also demoed this fast charging technology in a modified Mi 10 Pro smartphone that shows 4,000 mAh battery on the phone being charged up to 10% in 1 minute, 50% in 8 minutes and 100% in 19 minutes.
Xiaomi said that its wireless charging technology will continue to iterate, bringing the era of wireless charging replacing wired charging soon. The company did not say which Xiaomi smartphone will use this technology first.
