Just like any other year, the search engine giant Google has released its annual “Year in Search 2020” list. This list is all about top trending searches in India and around the globe. As one can guess, the searches in Google ranges from ‘coronavirus’, ‘US election’, ‘IPL’ to ‘PM Kisan Yojana’.
According to Google, in India, the Indian Premier League (IPL) topped the overall trending list in 2020, followed by Coronavirus and US election results. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Scheme) that extended monetary support to farmers also featured among the top searches. Here’s the list.

Furthermore, Google said that it found a lot of queries centered around ‘How to’ and ‘What is’ this year including: ‘How to make paneer?’ and ‘How to increase immunity?’, ‘What is binod?’, followed by many virus-related queries such as ‘What is plasma therapy?’, and ‘What is hantavirus?’.
