OnePlus has finally released Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 update. This comes after OxygenOS 11 stable update for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones that rolled out back in October last year. The OnePlus 8T smartphone was launched running OxygenOS 11 out of the box.
OnePlus already said that it encountered a data decryption issue when porting Android 11 to the 7 and 7T series. It worked closely with Qualcomm it resolved it and is running a Closed Beta test. The first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series is expected soon.
As this is an Open Beta Version(OBT) and not the stable build(MP version), OnePlus says that there are known issues like application compatibility issues, system lag and stability issues.
To get it you need to download the beta update for OnePlus Nord (India / Global) manually, copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage, Go to Settings → System → System Updates → Click top right icon → Local upgrade → Click on the corresponding installation package → upgrade. It is safe to back up required data before proceeding with the upgrade. You can go back to stable build (India / Global) any time and update using the same procedure, but this erases all the data, so you need to back up before proceeding.
