Lava Z1, Z2, Z4 and Z6 launched starting at Rs. 5499; myZ lets you choose your own specs


Lava just launched the Z1, Z2, Z4 and Z6, the company’s latest ‘Made in India’ smartphones all with military-grade certification and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front. Lava says that the Z1 is world’s first ‘Designed In India’ phone features a 5-inch FWVGA screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio A20 quad-core SoC with 2GB of RAM, 5MP front and rear cameras with LED flash and a 3100mAh battery.

The Z2 features a 6.51-inch HD+ screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage, 13MP rear camera and a 2MP depth sensor and an 8MP front camera both with LED flash and a 5000mAh battery. The Z4 and Z6 packs almost similar specs as the Z2 but feature 13MP + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth sensor, 16MP front camera and 4GB or 6GB RAM with 64GB storage.

The Lava Z1 comes in Blue and Red colours, is priced at Rs. 5499 and will be available from Amazon.in, Lavamobiles.com and offline stores starting from January 26th.

The Lava Z2, Z4 and Z6 come in Blue and Red colours, are priced at Rs. 6999, Rs. 8999 and Rs. 9999, respectively and will be available from Amazon.in, Lavamobiles.com and offline stores starting from January 11th.

Lava also launched myZ program that lets you build your own phone. This keeps the 6.5-inch HD display, Helio G35 and 5000mAh battery while you can choose 2GB, 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB storage, 13MP + 2MP dual camera or 13MP + 5MP + 2MP triple rear cameras, 8MP or 16MP front cameras and Red or Blue colour. The cost of the phone will vary depending on your choice and the top-end spec will cost Rs. 10,699. Lava says that there are 66 unique ways. myZ will be available from lavamobiles.com from January 11th and will soon be available from retail stores offline.

Lava has also launched Zup program that lets you upgrade the RAM and storage version of Z2, Z4, Z6 and myZ anytime within the first year of purchase by paying a nominal cost instead of paying the full amount.
