HUAWEI today confirmed the launch of Mate X2 with a foldable screen in China on February 22nd. This will be the successor of Mate Xs that was introduced back in February last year. This will be powered by Kirin 9000 processor that powers HUAWEI’s Mate 40 series that were introduced a few months back.
HUAWEI is said to have filed close to 100 patents for the foldable phone, so we can expect some improvements compared to the predecessor. The phone is said to feature an 8.01-inch (2480×2200 pixels) internal main screen with 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.45-inch (2700×1160 pixels) external secondary screen with 60Hz refresh rate.
It is said to pack a 50MP IMX700 main camera, 16MP ultra-wide, 12MP telephoto camera and an 8MP IMX520 periscope telephoto lens and a 4400mAh battery with 66W fast charging. We should know more details before the phone goes official later this month.
