Update: Redmi today posted an image of the phone in Black colour with water-like pattern on the back. The company also confirmed 4520mAh battery for the phone. It already confirmed Dolby Atoms, Stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio certification and E4 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate with a 2.8mm tiny centre punch-hole camera for the phone.
Earlier: Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will introduce the Redmi K40 series smartphones in China on February 25th. Today it has officially posted the first teaser of the phone that shows rounded corners and AI triple rear cameras that includes two large cameras and one smaller camera sensor, same as the Mi 11. Based on earlier rumours we can expect 108MP main camera.
The Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro have already been certified in China that revealed 163.7×76.4×7.8mm dimensions and a 4500mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The Redmi K40 series have codename “Alioth” and has model number M2012K11AC/AG. The Redmi K40 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage and the K40 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC. These are also expected to pack a 120Hz refresh rate screen.
Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing already that confirmed that the pricing for the K40 Pro will start at 2,999 yuan (US$ 460 / Rs. 33,993 approx.) and the K40 should be cheaper. We should know more details about the phones in the coming days.
