Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 to be announced on March 29, could feature a bigger screen, SpO2 monitoring, 30 Sports modes


Xiaomi already confirmed the announcement of new Mi 11 series smartphones including Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Lite as well as new Mi MIX models on March 29th. Now it has confirmed that it will introduce the Mi Smart Band 6, successor to last year’s Mi Band 5 at the event. The design looks like the predecessor, but the teaser image reveals that the body is larger, and the curvature of the screen edge will be more obvious. It is also expected to come with a larger screen.

Earlier firmware leak revealed that it will come with GPS support, Amazon Alexa and finally SpO2 monitoring. The watch faces are bigger and the band screen width will be 152 pixels, and height could be around 360 pixels.

The Mi Band 5 has 11 sports modes that includes outdoor running, walking, cycling, indoor running, swimming, exercise, indoor cycling, elliptical machine, skipping rope, yoga and rowing machine. The Mi band 6 will add 19 more that includes Indoor fitness, Indoor ice skating, HIIT, Core training, Stretching, Stepper, Gymnastics, Pilates, Street dance, Dance, Zumba, Cricket, Bowling, Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Badminton, Boxing and Kickboxing, taking the total sports modes to 30.

It is also said to feature an option to set alarms on  the Mi Band directly instead of relying on the app. Other options include, option to Lock the screen during swimming, Pomodoro timer for better productivity and view sleep data directly from the smart band.
