Apple releases iOS and iPadOS 14.4.2 and watchOS 7.3.3 to fix actively exploited security vulnerability 


Apple has released iOS 14.4.2  and iPadOS 14.4.2  as well as watchOS 7.3.3, few weeks after it released the iOS and iPadOS 14.4.1, and watchOS 7.3.2 update and a couple of months after the iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4 got released brining new features. Apple says that the update includes important security fixes and should be installed by all users.

The security support document says that the update fixes a vulnerability that was actively exploited. Check out the changelog below.

Impact: Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to universal cross site scripting. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

Description: This issue was addressed by improved management of object lifetimes.

The new update is available for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation), Apple Watch Series 3 and later.

The update comes after Apple released iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 beta that brings Apple Watch iPhone Unlocking, dual SIM 5G support, Apple Maps crowdsourcing for accidents, new emoj characters, expanded controller support and lots more new features.
