When Apple launched the iPhone SE (2020), there was quite a bit of disappointment among the tech community when Apple made the decision to simply recycle the iPhone 8 design. Fresh rumours have surfaced now that suggest Apple will continue to use the same 4.7-inch LCD screen for an iPhone SE update in 2022.
The rumours were based on information from Ross Young, a display analyst, who tweeted that the next LCD screen of the iPhone SE will continue to remain at 4.7-inches in 2022. He also suspects that the phone will support 5G, specifically the sub-6GHz band.
What is more interesting is that Apple is expected to refresh the iPhone SE in 2023, and will likely have a larger 6.1-inch display that will contain a punch-hole camera. Apple has famously stuck with a notch-cut out in their iPhone’s displays, and is expected to finally introduce a design with a punch-hole display with the iPhone 14 in 2023. Hence, we can expect the design to trickle down to the iPhone SE later on.
