Apple iPad Pro 2021 models said to ship at a later date due to supply shortage issues

According to recent rumours, Apple was preparing to launch new models of the iPad Pro with updated displays, including a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a Mini-LED display. The company is however reportedly facing supply shortages for these displays, which could likely result in delayed shipping dates.

Apple is supposed to have an event in April, where they are expected to launch updated iPad Pro models that will come in two sizes. The more expensive 12.9-inch iPad Pro will feature a Mini-LED panel, which should have better contrast, brightness and colours.

Unfortunately, Mini-LED display manufacturers have reported poor yields for these panels, and as a result, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will probably ship at a much later date. The number of units may also be constrained when it first begins shipping. Interestingly though, Apple will still have an event before April ends to announce both the new iPad Pro models.

Other rumours for the iPad Pro include an updated processor with performance on par with the Apple Silicon M1 chip, improved cameras and a faster USB-C port with possible Thunderbolt support.
