Truecaller, the popular caller ID app, has announced a new feature called Covid Healthcare Directory, which is a one stop place where users in India can find and access official healthcare numbers.
The feature can be found in the top left corner of Truecaller’s dialer. Clicking on it will show a list of locations, and once the user chooses a place, Truecaller will show a list containing the names, address and phone numbers of COVID hospitals from that location. There is also a Search function for users to quickly access information from the list.
Information for the Healthcare directory is directly sourced from official government databases, so they should be accurate. Truecaller will also be updating the list every day to ensure that it stays accurate.
The feature is available right now on the Beta version of the Truecaller app on Android and will arrive to all Android users soon. As India is experiencing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to give users access to verified helpline information in these times of need.
