Android 12 design screenshots leak ahead of Google I/O 2021

Google I/O 2021 is right around the corner, scheduled to happen between May 18th and May 20th. Ahead of the event, new screenshots of Google’s upcoming Android 12 operating system have been leaked, showing new design changes, widgets and more.

The leaks were posted by Jon Prosser, who showed off the various alleged screenshots of elements in Android 12 in a YouTube video. Android 12 will reportedly focus around 3 main elements – new visual designs for system elements, stronger privacy and protections, and better device-connectivity.

Android 12 appears to have design changes across the board with many system elements getting a visual makeover. This includes the music player, brightness bar, WiFi/Bluetooth toggles, volume controls, redesigned notifications, along with a new clock and weather widget.

Jon Prosser also shared a video promo clip for Android which showcases the many new animations that Google has added throughout Android 12’s UI. Google is reportedly aiming at making the Android 12 experience more consistent across UI elements, such as the keyboard, app icons, etc. Android 12 may also incorporate changes that improve one-handed usage in system apps, and the lock screen might get an upgrade with a bigger clock, which may support customization too.
