Qualcomm is taking a major stride into the development of the Windows 10 on ARM ecosystem as they announce the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Developer Kit. Built in collaboration with Microsoft, the Snapdragon Developer Kit is designed to help developers better optimize and test their apps for Windows 10 on ARM PCs.
With the Snapdragon Developer Kit, developers have a great tool to recompile, optimize, and test applications for Windows 10 devices that are powered by Snapdragon compute platforms. Along with this, the development process has been made easier with December 2020 introduction of x64 emulation preview for Windows 10 PCs, through the Windows Insider Program.
Commenting on the announcement, Miguel Nunes, Senior Director, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. said:
We have a proud history of creating helpful developer tools in coordination with Microsoft, and the Snapdragon Developer Kit is the latest outcome of that collaboration. This developer kit provides an affordable alternative to other consumer and commercial devices. With the smaller desktop configuration, this kit gives developers more flexibility than notebook options, and at a lower price point. We remain committed to helping developers address requests from customers, while reducing the overall cost of deployment.
