WhatsApp is introducing three new updates for their Business customers. Businesses can now quickly set up their WhatsApp for Business accounts, have more options when sending automated messages to their customers and can also set up more quick replies for their customers.
The first update is the sign up process for businesses who want to use WhatsApp to communicate with their customers. Previously the process used to take weeks, and WhatsApp has now reduced the process to just 5 minutes. These changes should encourage more more medium and larger businesses to have customer conversations on WhatsApp.
At the moment, businesses have limited functionality when sending out automated notifications to their customers. The second update addresses that issue, where WhatsApp will now support more kinds of messages, such as letting customers know when an item is back in stock, etc.
The last update will let business’ use their WhatsApp Business API account to set up a list of 10 quick replies for their customers to use. With it, customers can use the Reply button to select up to three options from the list, which should help speed up the conversation.
