Microsoft, today, is adding new features to its popular cloud storage tool OneDrive. As a part of a new update, users can edit photos on OneDrive, similar to Google Photos, and the company is also adding new ways to organize and view photos on the Android app.
Similar to other photo editing tools, users can crop, rotate and flip, adjust colors in their photos on OneDrive. The crop tool has preset ratios, and the ‘rotate’ and ‘flip’ tool has incremental degree rotation, which makes it easier for users to edit pictures quickly and share.
Furthermore, OneDrive App for Android gets support for Chromecast. This means users can cast photos and videos on a bigger display with a Chromecast-enabled device or television. The new update also adds the ability to filter photos which can be found on the top right of the Photos tab on the Android app and the photos area of the Web version.
The company is also working on bringing changes to the way how photos are organized. Photos from various sources like screenshots, social media, etc will automatically be organized in separate folders and users can also group the images by month and year. This feature is expected to roll out in the coming months.
