realme GT 5G with Snapdragon 888 and realme GT Master Edition with Snapdragon 778G launching in India on August 18

Update – August 10, 2021: realme today confirmed the launch of realme GT series smartphones in India. We already know that the realme GT 5G will be powered by Snapdragon 888. Today, it has confirmed that it will launch the realme GT Master Edition with Snapdragon 778G SoC in the country, and not the realme GT Master Edition Explorer with Snapdragon 870.

The teaser shows both the grey and white colour variants for the Master Edition. It will come with up to 12GB of RAM with up to 7GB virtual RAM and The phones will be sold on Flipkart after the launch.

Earlier: realme introduced the realme GT 5G in Europe back in June after it was launched in China in March. At that time the realme India and Europe CEO, Madhav Sheth confirmed that realme GT 5G will launch in India before Diwali. Today, in the latest episode of #AskMadhav, he has confirmed that it will launch in India on August 18 along with the realme GT Master Edition after it was launched in China last month.

He also said the company will not make any changes in the realme GT 5G for India, so it will be same as the global version. It will come in Racing Yellow, Dashing Silver and Dashing Blue colours and in 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage versions. However, he confirmed that the realme GT 5G won’t be priced in India under Rs. 30,000 due to the specs and the build quality.

In an interview with India today, he said that the realme GT 5G series will launch at around Rs. 30,000, so the Master Edition could start at that price, while the price of the realme GT 5G will be higher.

He did not confirm if the company is planning to launch both the GT Master Edition with Snapdragon 778G and the realme GT Master Edition Explorer with Snapdragon 870 at the event.

RAM expansion, realme Bluetooth Speaker and realme Pad launch details

In the AskMadhav episode, he also confirmed that the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro smartphones will get the RAM expansion feature soon, and the company is evaluating it for other devices. The realme Bluetooth speakers will be launched in September, he confirmed.

Regarding the realme Laptop, he said that it will feature the best display in the segment, thin and lightweight design, an exceptional sound output and an overall balanced performance. The realme Pad will have a slim and light design, will offer balanced performance, and will be targeted at both students and working professionals. The realme Pad is in final testing stage, and will launch in India soon.
