realme GT Master Edition Unboxing and First Impressions


In addition to realme GT 5G, the company also launched the realme GT Master Edition. This retains the 6.43-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen, features 64-megapixel triple rear cameras and has support for 65W Super Dart Charge fast charging as the GT, and this comes with Snapdragon 778G instead of Snapdragon 888. It is also the most affordable phone powered by the Snapdragon 778G SoC in India. We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing.

The realme GT Master Edition has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole screen with a pixel resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. The display is bright, and the sunlight legibility is good as well, thanks to 1000nits peak brightness. It has 100% DCI-P3, so the colors are vibrant. It has 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, so it is pretty smooth to use.

The phone has the punch-hole that houses a 32-megapixel camera. The earpiece is present on the top, but it doesn’t act as a secondary speaker like the realme GT.

The phone as ultra-narrow border, so it has high screen-to-body ratio of about 91.7%. It also has HDR support, which works for supported YouTube videos, but it doesn’t work in Netflix. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner which is quick to unlock the phone.

Powered by Snapdragon 778G SoC with 5G SA/NA, it has a vapor chamber that has an area of up to 1729.8mm², which is larger and more efficient in cooling than traditional pipes. In addition, the five-layer cooling system is made of graphite, copper, aluminum alloy, silica gel, etc. The super large heat sink area can cover 100% of core heat sources which is a total area of more than 12387.4 mm². This significantly reduces the temperature and
keep the phone in a high-performance state.  The phone has Linear vibration motor and brand new 4D vibration. The phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM with up to 5GB of additional RAM expansion.

Coming to the button placements, the power button is present on the right side, the volume rockers are present on the left along with dual SIM slot, secondary microphone is on the top, 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The phone doesn’t have an expandable storage. Audio from the mono speaker is decent.

It features 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel macro camera. It has 4K video recording and portrait video support. Check out some camera samples.

Coming to the design, the phone comes in two versions, one with a 3D glass back and the  Voyager Grey version we have has a vegan leather design that concave vegan leather process. With a raised height difference of 0.3mm and a raised fence spacing of 18.8mm it replicates the horizontal grid of the suitcase on the back of the phone. It has a 4300mAh battery with 65W Super Dart fast charging that offers 0 to 100% charge in 33 minutes.

Priced starting Rs. 25,999  for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, the phone will be available from Flipkart and realme.com as well as offline stores from August 26th.
