During their 2021 Gamescom event, Microsoft announced that they will soon be bringing cloud gaming support on the current generation Xbox Series X, Series S consoles and their previous generation Xbox One console. The feature will allow Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to quickly play games on the cloud without needing to install the game files.
When it launches, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play over 100 high-quality games in the Xbox Game Pass library, including multiplayer titles such as Sea of Thieves, without needing to install and use storage space.
More interestingly, Microsoft will also be bringing cloud gaming to the older Xbox One, which will enable previous generation console owners to play current generation titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and The Medium. Similar to the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on PCs, phones and tablets, Microsoft will support up to 1080p at 60fps on these consoles.
