Telegram is rolling out a major update to their messaging service that adds a number of new features, bringing the version to v8.0. These include Live Streaming capabilities for unlimited people, the ability to preview messages before forwarding, larger thumbnails when scrolling the sticker set bar and more.
Telegram has been steadily improving upon their voice chat and video chat capabilities over the last two years. Their latest update completely removes the limit on the number of participants for video calls, enabling large video calls in group chats and even Live Streams in channels.
Forwarding messaging now offers a better experience as users can now see a preview window before sending, along with a number of customization options such as hiding the sender’s name or hiding the caption on media messages.
When reading through multiple one-to-many channels on Telegram, users can quickly jump to the next one by scrolling up when they reach the bottom of a channel.
Other updates include:
- Trending Stickers are now shown above ‘Recently Used’ in the sticker panel.
- Larger previews for sticker suggestions for Android Telegram users.
- The apps now show a ‘choosing a sticker’ status at the top of the chat.
- When opening a comment thread that has new messages, a counter will now appear showing the number of unread comments.
The Telegram v8.0 update is rolling out now to all users on supported platforms.
