With content creation and consumption in the surge, microSD and SD cards play an important role. Samsung which is known for its microSD and SD cards lineup has announced two new products now – Samsung PRO Plus and Samsung EVO Plus.
The Pro Plus microSD card comes in 128GB/256GB/512GB storage capacity while the EVO Plus microSD card comes in 64GB/128GB/256GB/512GB storage capacity. The interface is UHS-1 on both the cards and the SD Standard is SDXC. As for the speeds, the Pro Plus supports up to 160 MB/s read speeds, up to 120 MB/s write speeds while the EVO Plus supports transfer speeds up to 130 MB/s. Both cards support the video speed class rating of V30 and an application performance class of A2 and also feature Samsung’s six-proof protection.
Coming to the SD cards, these also support the V30 video speed class for capturing content in 4K UHD and FHD resolution. The PRO Plus SD card comes in 32GB/64GB/128GB/256GB/512GB storage capacity while the EVO Plus comes in 32GB/64GB/128GB/256GB storage capacity. Further, it supports SDXC standard and SDHC standard and features Samsung’s seven-proof protection against shock, water, extreme temperatures, x-ray, wear out, drops, and magnetic impact.

The microSD cards (EVO Plus and PRO Plus) will be available starting today in the US. The EVO Plus SD card will also be available starting today, while the PRO Plus SD card will be available later this year in the US.
