OPPO launched the Enco Buds, the company’s latest budget TWS earbuds, in India earlier this week. The successor to last year’s Enco W11 is Rs. 500 cheaper at launch, comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.2, offers slightly better battery life and also has low-latency game mod. I have been using the earbuds for over a week now, and here is the first impressions.

The buds feature an 8 mm dynamic driver for Bass-driven sound, same as the Enco W11. The volume is loud, so 60 or 70% is enough. It has Bluetooth 5.2 and supports binaural low-latency transmission, so there is no interference and disconnection and offers stable connection. There is AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) audio transmission protocol for a crisper sound. It comes with a compact charging case that weighs just 37 grams, so that you can carry it in your pocket.
The earbuds weigh 4 grams (each) and fits in your ears without any issues. These support pause your music, switch between songs, and also adjust the volume which is rare to see in a headset in the price range. You can also customize the controls with the Hey Medlody app, or directly from the Bluetooth settings for compatible OPPO phones running ColorOS 11 or later. For mobile gamers, the Enco Buds also come with a super-low 80ms-latency Game Mode and can be activated with a triple-tap.
Even though the case and the outer part of the earbuds have a glossy finish, the inner part of the buds feature a matte finish. The earbuds have IP54 ratings for dust and water resistance compared to IP55 in the W11, but the difference between them is less.
The TWS supports an AI-based intelligent call noise-cancellation, which the company says that can differentiate between ambient sounds and human voices to effectively block out background noises, while you are on phone calls. In the box, you get ergonomically designed, swappable ear tips in three sizes to provide a snug fit with maximum comfort and optimal noise isolation.
The case packs a 400 mAh battery that promise up to 24-hours music playtime, when fully charged along with the earbuds. It offers standalone battery life of up to 6 hours. This is better than 5 hours of playback and 20 hours of total playback with the case in the W11. It also comes with a USB Type-C port and has fast charge, so a 15-minute charge of the earbuds promise one hour of play time.
The OPPO Enco Buds also comes in blue colour, is priced at Rs. 1,999 and will go on sale in India from September 14, but you can pre-order them now from OPPO India online store at an offer price of Rs. 1,799, and it will ship from September 14th. It will also be available at a discounted rate on Flipkart from September 14th till September 16th.
