Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Unboxing and First Impressions

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, the company’s latest mid-range 5G smartphone, in India yesterday. The main highlight of the phone is its sleek, slight weight design. The phone has a 90Hz AMOLED screen with support for Dolby Vision, and the phone has support for up to 12 5G bands, which is a first for Xiaomi in the price range. We got hold out of the phone, and here is our first impressions.

The phone has a 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It has up to 800 nits brightness, so the outdoor visibility is good. In addition to HDR10 and HDR10+, the phone also support Dolby Atmos that also works on Netflix, which is a good addition. The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 778G 5G Mobile Platform with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The phone has support for up to 12 5G bands, and also has liquid cooling.

It has a tiny punch-hole in the top left corner that houses a 20MP camera that supports up to 1080p 60 fps video recording. The earpiece is present on the top edge, and also doubles up as a speaker. Since the company has used pOLED screen, the phone has 1.88mm bezels on the top and the bottom. It runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 with option to uninstall most system apps. Xiaomi promises 3 years of software updates and 4 years of security updates for the phone, a first for a mid-range Xiaomi phone.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has an ultra-thin 6.81mm and 158g lightweight body, thanks to new PCB design and a new battery process. It has a glossy plastic frame.

The volume rockers and the power button that includes a fingerprint sensor is present on the right side. The hybrid dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone and the IR sensor are present on the top.

The phone has a 64MP main camera f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 119° ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP telemacro camera with f/2.4 aperture and can go close to 3cm. It supports up to 4K 30 fps video recording, and there is also ultra steady mode, but it is limited to 1080p 30fps. Check out some camera samples.

We have the Vinyl black color, but the phone also comes in Diamond Dazzle, Tuscany Coral and Jazz Blue colours. The glass back has a frosted finish that doesn’t attract fingerprints. The phone has a splash proof body with P2i coating, but doesn’t have IP ratings. It has a 4,250mAh battery. With 33W fast charger in the box, it can charge up to 50% in 20 minutes and 100% in 58 minutes.

The phone is priced at Rs. 26,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 28,999. The phone will be available from October 2nd midnight on Amazon.in, mi.com, Mi Home stores and offline stores starting from October 2nd midnight. With Rs. 2000 bank discount and Rs. 1500 discount launch (Only from October 2 to 7), the effective price of the phone comes down to Rs. 23499. Full review of the phone will be out soon.
