realme GT Neo2 Unboxing and First Impressions


realme today launched the realme GT Neo2. Even though the realme Neo was launched as X7 Max in India, the company has launched its successor with the same name in India. It is a huge upgrade compared to the predecessor in almost every aspect and is placed between the realme GT Master Edition and the realme GT 5G. We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing.

The realme GT Neo2 has a 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole screen with a pixel resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. It uses Samsung E4 AMOLED display that is bright with 10240 level of brightness adjustment, and the sunlight legibility is good as well, thanks to 1300nits peak brightness. It has 100% DCI-P3, so the colors are vibrant. The phone also has DC Dimming. It has 120Hz refresh rate and 600Hz touch sampling rate, so it is pretty smooth to use.

The phone has the punch-hole that houses a 16-megapixel camera. The earpiece is present on the top, and acts as a secondary speaker.

The phone as ultra-narrow border, so it has high screen-to-body ratio of about 92.6% It also has HDR support, which works for supported YouTube videos, but it doesn’t work in Netflix. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner which is quick to unlock the phone.

Powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC with 5G SA/NA support, it has a 3D stainless-steel VC cooling chamber that has an area of up to 4129mm², which is the largest on a realme phone. It also has aerospace-grade diamond heat dissipation gel. The super large heat sink area can cover most parts of processor and battery area that significantly reduces the core temperature by up to 18° C and keep the phone in a high-performance state.

The phone has X-axis Linear vibration motor and brand new 4D vibration. The phone comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with up to 7GB of additional RAM expansion. There is up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button is present on the right side, the volume rockers are present on the left, secondary microphone is on the top, dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The phone doesn’t have an expandable storage. Audio from the stereo speakers is good, and there is also Dolby Atmos, but it only works with a wired or Bluetooth headset.

It features 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel macro camera. It has 4K video 60fps recording and portrait video support. Check out some camera samples.

Coming to the design, the phone comes in three colors. The Neo Green colour that we have has a matte AG glass that uses 7 nano multilayer finish and the black part has a glossy finish.

The phone also comes in Neo Blue that has 8 gradient color nano layers and Neo Black. These have a Satin AG art glass with 68% super high haze, antifouling and anti-fingerprint finish for a perfect grip, thanks to 52° four-sided arc. It has a 5000mAh battery with 65W Super Dart fast charging that offers 0 to 100% charge in 36 minutes. Since it has a huge battery, it weighs about 200 grams.

Priced starting Rs. 31,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version, the phone will be available from Flipkart and realme.com as well as offline stores from October 17th. As a part of festive offer, it will be available for as low as Rs. 24,999
