Recently, Spotify has spotted testing out the vertical video feed similar to TikTok’s. Chris Messina spotted the feature in the music app’s latest iOS TestFlight beta version and published a video of the Discover feature on Twitter.
Not only that, @Spotify Discover is basically a pared down version of a TikTok-style feed of vertical music videos (likely using their canvas format) that you can like or skip.#NewSpotify pic.twitter.com/hpOEZ8v9bl

The new Discover option is located in between the Home and Search buttons at the bottom. Tapping on the Discover section takes you to the TikTok-styled video feed. Users can like the video by tapping the heart button and can move to the next by swiping. They can also tap the three-dot menu for more information regarding the song.
“At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience. Some of those tests end up paving the way for our broader user experience, and others serve only as an important learning. We don’t have any further news to share at this time.,” says Spotify spokesperson.
A couple of days back, Spotify announced a partnership with Netflix to launch an all-new Netflix Hub on Spotify where fans can get the full audio-streaming experience from the entertainment they love. By searching “Netflix” on Spotify, you can find and sing along to the music behind some of your favorite Netflix shows—all in one place.
