Update: Dec 7, 2021 – OPPO has started teasing it self-developed retractable camera tech. It reveals 1/1.56″ sensor, 50 mm equivalent lens, f/2.4 aperture. It also shows that is water-resistant, so there are no gaps. Similar to the pop-up front camera tech, the lens retracts when it detects a fall.

OPPO also confirmed that it will release its first self-developed NPU. Based on rumours, the NPU is based on the 6nm EUV process.
Earlier: OPPO today scheduled its annual INNO Day 2021, a two-day event on December 14th and 15th, where it will unveil technological advancements for the future. This year’s theme is “Reimagining the Future”. On December 14th, there will be a keynote speed and innovative product launch event, and on the December 15th, the company says that it will introduce a flagship product, which could be a foldable phone.
In China, the company is sending an invitation, which is a French classic science fiction adventure novel ‘Vingt mille lieues sous les mers’ by writer Jules Verne that translates to ‘Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas’.
OPPO Innoworld visitors can participate in the launch remotely using customized avatars. In addition, they can visit all virtual exhibition halls. Last year at the Inno Day, the company introduced OPPO X 2021 rollable concept phone, AR Glass 2021 and CybeReal AR app.
Based on latest rumours, the flagship product that will launch this year could a foldable phone rumoured to be called OPPO Find N. It is said to feature an 8-inch internal folding screen with 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6.5-inch 60Hz external screen.
It could be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC, feature a self-developed imaging chip and new imaging technologies. It is said to pack a 50MP main rear camera with IMX766 sensor, 16MP camera with IMX481 sensor, a 13MP camera with Samsung S5K3M5 sensor with a matrix design and a 32MP front camera.
