ASUS introduced the Zenfone 8, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, back in May 2021. The company confirmed that the India launch of the phone will be delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The ASUS 8Z name was confirmed soon after. Today, out of the blue, the company has announced that the phone will launch in India on February 28th.
To remind you, the phone packs a 5.9-inch FHD+ 120Hz E4 AMOLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, is powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC with support for 5G SA/NSA, up to 16GB LPDDR5 and runs Android 11 with Zen UI on top. It has a dual rear camera setup with a 64MP main and a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP front camera. It has a frosted glass back and packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 30W Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging.
The phone comes in Obsidian Black and Horizon Silver colours and was introduced starting at $599 (Rs. 45,165 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version. There are several versions going up to 16GB + 256GB, but it is not clear if India will get all the models.
Similar to the other models, the ASUS 8Z will also be sold on Flipkart.
