Redmi K50 Dimensity 9000 edition will feature Samsung’s 2K display, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos


Last week, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand confirmed that it will introduce the Redmi K50 series in China on March 17th and also said that one of the phones will be powered by Dimensity 9000 SoC. It has been revealing details about the phone in the last few days. Today, the company has confirmed the details about the phone’s display.

The phone will use Samsung’s 2K (3200 x 1440 pixels) flat screen with 526PPI pixel density, DC dimming, Dolby Vision certification, primary, DisplayMate A+ 16 screen records, support for 16,000 levels of automatic brightness adjustment and will come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The company already confirmed dual stereo speakers, support for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res double gold certification, nano-crystal technology for the back, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, infrared remote control, X-axis motor, Wi-Fi 6 support and one of the first phones to support Bluetooth 5.3 as well as the new LC3 audio codec.

The company already posted an image of the rear finish of the Blue version that uses a new nano-microcrystalline process to restore the ‘cosmic aesthetics’. As the light slowly passes through the ice crystals hidden in the lower part of the Blue version, they glow. Today, the company posted an image of the silver version. It is made of glass material and reflects light, offering a metallic look, says the company.

Based on earlier reports, the company will launch Redmi K50 with Snapdragon 870 SoC, Redmi K50 Pro with Dimensity 8100 and another model with Dimensity 9000. We should know more details about the phone in the coming days, before it goes official on Thursday.
