OnePlus 10 Pro Unboxing and First Impressions


OnePlus today launched its flagship OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone in India. The successor to the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with an improved LTPO screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, improved 150° ultra-wide camera, bigger battery and 80W fast charging. Here we have the first impressions.

The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ 3D flexible curved AMOLED, LTPO 2.0 panel with 1Hz-120Hz variable refresh rate. Outdoor visibility is good since it has up to 1300 nits peak brightness. Dynamic ‘AI dimming curve’ offers personalized brightness adjustment. The company just says that the screen has Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

It has a tiny punch-hole that houses a 32-megapixel camera with Sony IMX615 sensor. The earpiece grill is on the top edge that doubles up as a secondary speaker. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, the phone has 5-layer 3D Passive Cooling System with a cooling area of over 34,100 mm2. The phone runs OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12. Similar to older models, OnePlus will offer 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches.

The phone has a metal frame. Coming to button placements, it retains the alert slider, which is present on the right side above the power button. The volume rockers are present on the left side. The dual SIM slot is present on the bottom along with a primary microphone, USB Type-C port and a loudspeaker grill. The secondary microphone is on the top.

OnePlus has once again collaborated with Hasselblad for its cameras. There is a 48MP rear camera with 1/1.43″ Sony IMX789 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, same as the predecessor, 50MP 150° ultra-wide with 1/2.76″ Samsung JN1 sensor, compared to Sony IMX766 sensor. There is a 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, OIS and 3.3x optical zoom.

The second-generation Hasselblad Pro Mode offers 12-bit RAW photography from all the rear cameras, and there is also a RAW+ option. It also has a LOG format option for videographers. In terms of video capabilities, OnePlus 10 Pro can shoot 8k video at 24 fps, 4K video at 120fps, 720p slow motion at 480fps, 1080p slow motion at 240fps.

The all-new streamlined design language seamlessly flows from the 3D ceramic rear camera cover. The Emerald Forest that we have features anti-glare rear glass that creates a finish that sparkles when viewed from
different angles. The phone also comes in Volcanic Black model. Both have a matte finish. It doesn’t have IP68 ratings for water resistance that was available in the predecessor.

The phone has a dual-cell 5000mAh battery compared to 4500mAh in the 9 Pro, and has support for 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 32 minutes. It also has 50W AIRVOOC Wireless fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 47 minutes. It also has reverse wireless charging.

Priced starting at Rs. 66,999, the phone will be available from Amazon.in, OnePlus.in and other channels from April 5th with several launch offers.
