realme launched its flagship GT 2 Pro smartphone in India today. This packs a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED screen, is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and dual 50MP rear cameras along with a microscope camera, and packs a 5000mAh battery. We got to check out the master edition paper white model. Here are our first impressions.

This is the first realme phone to feature a Quad HD+ AMOLED 1-120Hz LTPO variable refresh rate AMOLED display. Thanks to up to 1400 nits brightness and 10240 levels of brightness adjustment, the screen is bright even outdoors, and the 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut and JNCD ≈ 0.5 offers vibrant colours. The phone also has MEMC and 1000Hz touch sampling rate for during gaming. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Inside the tiny punch-hole, there is a 32-megapixel camera with Sony IMX615 sensor, a major change compared to usual 16MP camera in other realme phones. The earpiece grill is present on the top edge, which doubles up as a secondary speaker.
Power by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with up to 12GB of RAM, the phone Stainless Steel Vapour cooling Max, a 9-layer cooling system that a large heat dissipation area that offers 100% heat source coverage. It does get hot when gaming, but it is not too hot to handle.
The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. In the realme Labs, there is a heart rate measurement option that lets you use the fingerprint sensor for heart rate tracking. There is a small bezel below the display. The phone runs Android 12 with realme UI 3.0, and the company has promised 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches.
Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button is present on the right side, the volume rockers are present on the left. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. The phone doesn’t have an expandable storage.
You can see the antenna bands around the phone. The company says that there are 12 wrap-around antennas that cover all sides of the phone, and the phone can intelligently evaluate the signal strength of all antennas and automatically select the one with the best signal.

It supports 4K 60fps and 8K 24fps video recording from the rear camera, and the front camera supports 1080p recording. There is also Fish-eye Mode, Starry Mode, Dynamic Bokeh Portrait, Bokeh Flare Portrait and more features.

It has Paper Tech Master Design in White and Green colours that features a back cover that is made of sustainable Sabic bio-based materials extracted from renewable raw materials. This offers a good grip, but it might get dirty easily. The black version has an AG glass back. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 65W wired fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 33 minutes.
Priced starting at Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, the phone will be available from realme.com, Flipkart and offline stores starting from April 14th.
