Boult Audio, a company known for its audio products, launched its latest TWS offering in India – Airbass XPods Pro. The latest TWS from Boult Audio comprises high-fidelity 13mm drivers, IPX5 rated for water resistance, and also features an ENC chip that tunes out noise for a Pro+ calling experience. So, are these good sets of TWS earbuds in range? Let us find out in this review.
Design and Build
Starting off, the headsets come in a handy rectangular charging case that fits your pocket. You can see the charge indicator on the front in the form of a small LED right under Boult branding, but it is not bright. The case is made of plastic with a matte finish, doesn’t attracts fingerprints, and is not prone to scratches easily. The USB Type-C port is at the bottom of the case, while the top side has an opening to access the earphones.
The earbuds are light, fit well, and can be easily worn for long hours without any discomfort. The earbuds carry a dimension of 54x45x22mm and weigh 100 grams.
The Boult Audio Airbass XPods Pro is available in just two colors – Black and White. The earbuds have touchpads, allowing users to adjust the volume, change tracks, attend calls or trigger the voice assistant with a finger.
Connectivity, Pairing, and Controls
The pairing process in Airbass XPods Pro is simple, thanks to Bluetooth 5.0. Enable the Bluetooth function on your device, select the ‘Airbass XPods Pro’ and connect. The TWS is pairing ready when you open the top lid and it’s worth mentioning that it doesn’t have any function button. So far in my usage, I didn’t face any connectivity issues with the OnePlus 9 Pro and Galaxy S21 FE. It doesn’t have dual-mode connectivity, so you can only pair it with one device at a time.
The touch controls on XPods Pro are responsive and work well. Unlike a few other buds, you cannot customise the settings. All you can do in this bud is answer calls, adjust volume, play/pause the musical tracks and control the voice assistant.
Audio Quality, Call Performance, and battery life
The XPods Pro features 13mm drivers, which the company says are tuned for rich bass. Audio from the XPods Pro is decent, vocals are quite clear, and the treble is decent enough.
Voice clarity was good for calls indoors and average on outdoors. Overall, these have decent audio quality and average call quality for the price. The earphones are compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows devices, and use Bluetooth v5.1 for connectivity.
According to the company, Boult Audio’s XPods Pro can last 6 hours. During our review, we got about 5 and half hours on a single charge. With the charging case, you can extend the battery life to 24 hours.
The earphones are claimed to deliver a total of 100 minutes of playback time with 15 minutes of charging via a USB Type-C cable. Boult Audio Airbass XPods Pro sports a battery level indicator on the charging case.
Conclusion
Overall, the Boult Audio Airbass XPods Pro is a good Bluetooth true wireless earbuds for the price of Rs. 1,999. It is available on Flipkart and Boult Audio website in Black and White color.
