WhatsApp Message Reactions is a feature that many users have been waiting for quite some time. For a while, the company had been testing it with a small group of beta testers. The good news is that it is now available to all users worldwide— in both stable and beta builds.
WhatsApp is now allowing users to respond to messages with emoji and share files up to 2GB in size, a significant increase compared to the initial limit of 100MB. The firm stated last month that these features would be available “soon,” and it appears that today is the day.
On Thursday, the company also announced that the maximum size of group chats would be doubled. When reactions were first announced, the firm stated that you’d only be allowed to use only some emojis at first, but then that support for “all emojis and skin-tones” would’ve been introduced later. WhatsApp is also increasing the default size limit of group chats from 256 to 512 users.
For the time being, WhatsApp supports six emojis as reactions “👍❤️😂😮😢🙏”. To use WhatsApp Message Reactions, simply tap and hold on a message in a private or group conversation, then pick one of the six offered emoji.
The company recently added up to 32 people voice calling, pause and resume while recording features, and announced plans to add Communities and Admin Delete option to WhatsApp
