Motorola has announced the launch of Honeycomb tablet, Motorola Xoom in Malaysia, which will be available on May 6th with Maxis Communications. This was launched in it Singapore recently. Motorola Xoom was showcased at CES 2011. The Wi-FI version was spotted last month and later it was officially launched in U.S at the end of March.
Motorola Xoom has a Dual Core 1 Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU and runs on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). It has 10.1 inch display, 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 32 GB inbuilt memory with expandable MicroSD card slot, 5 MP Rear camera with Flash and 720p HD video capture and 2.0 MP front facing camera.
The Malaysian version will also offer apps like Maxis Movies to buy tickets online, Maxis OneMusic to access music and Maxis FINDER301, for easy mobile location of merchants.
The Maxis customers will also get a Motorola DEFY free with the Motorola XOOM for RM 2499 and 2 year contract on mobile phone with 3GB free data/month on their 3G network. So, they can share it with the tablet using Wi-Fi hot-spot feature on the phone. This is a limited period offer from May 6 until May 22.
Since Motorola launched Xoom in Singapore and launching it in Malaysia next month, they might launch Xoom it India soon.
