HONOR today confirmed the launch of HONOR 70 series of smartphones in China on May 30th. The successor to last year’s HONOR 60 series will feature similar dual cutouts for the camera, but the teaser video confirms a new 54MP 1/1.49″ main rear camera with f/1.9 aperture compared to 108MP camera in the predecessor. It is said to use a custom Sony sensor.
The phone will feature triple rear cameras, so it should include an ultra-wide and a depth camera. The teaser shows patterns on the back that changes colour when light hits at certain angles. Based on online listings, there will be HONOR 70, HONOR 70 Pro and a top-end HONOR 70 Pro+ model.
The HONOR 50 and HONOR 60 series were launched with Snapdragon 778G, and the HONOR 60 Pro featured Snapdragon 778G Plus. The HONOR 70 series is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC that should be introduced later this week. The series is expected to feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, 4800mAh battery and support for up to 100W wired fast charging.
According to HONOR CEO George Zhao, the HONOR 70 series will include very important features and functions in terms of design, photography, performance, Vlog, and comprehensive experience.
