vivo today launched the X80 series of smartphones in India. Here we have the X70 Pro, which is the successor to the popular X70 Pro that was launched last year. This brings in upgrades in almost all the segments that include a Quad HD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, quad rear cameras that include a 2x gimbal camera, v1+ chip, and lots more. The Vivo X80 Pro packs a 6.70-inch Quad HD+ E5 AMOLED display with 3D curved corners, 1-120Hz LTPO variable refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1000Hz instant touch sampling rate, MEMC and has minimal bezels. It has a tiny punch-hole that houses the 32-megapixel camera. Overall, the display looks brilliant.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with vapor chamber cooling. It comes in single 12GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage version. It runs Android 12 with Funtouch OS 12 out of the box, and the performance is smooth. The company has promised 3 OS updates and 3 years of software updates for the phone.
It has a 32MP front camera inside the tiny notch. It has 3D Ultrasonic Large Fingerprint Sensor that can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds. The feature
also supports secure two-finger authentication, which improves user experience and offers increased privacy protection.
The phone has a power buttons and volume rockers on the right side, and there is nothing on the left, except for the antenna cutout since it has a metal frame. The secondary microphone is present on the top along with an IR blaster. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom.
Coming to the camera, the phone features a quad rear cameras that includes a 50MP camera with 1/1.3″ Samsung GNV sensor, f/1.57 aperture, LED flash, OIS, 48MP ultra-wide camera with IMX598 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 12MP 50mm 2X portrait camera with IMX663 sensor, f/1.85 aperture, gimbal stabilization, 8MP periscope camera, f/3.4 aperture, OIS, 5x optical zoom, 60x super zoom Zeiss T* coating, ZEISS optics, V1+ chip
Camera features include AI Video Enhancement that prompts users to switch to Super night video or video HDR based on the scenario before starting the video, new ZEISS Cinematic Video Bokeh feature that creates an artistic, oval flare bokeh with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, creating a widescreen cinematic lens effect. It has a matte finish on the back with AG technology that it is nice to look and feels good to hold and doesn’t attract fingerprints. The camera part has a ceramic finish that has a glossy mirror-like finish. The phone is 8.3mm thick, and packs a 4700mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
Priced at Rs. 79,999, the phone is already available for pre-order from vivo India eStore, Flipkart and offline stores and will go on sale from May 25th. There are also several launch offers.
