realme launched the realme narzo 50 series smartphones in India today as the successor to last year’s realme 30 series, but the new narzo 50 Pro model has a 90Hz AMOLED screen and is one of the first first phones in the range to pack a Dimensity 920 SoC. We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing.

The realme narzo 50 Pro 5G has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ punch-hole AMOLED screen with a pixel resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels 2.5D curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. The display is bright, and the sunlight legibility is good as well, thanks to 1000 nits peak brightness. It has 90Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate.
It has the punch-hole that houses a 16-megapixel camera, which has been in a standard in most realme mid-range phones. The earpiece is present on the top edge and doubles up as a secondary speaker. Powered by Dimensity 920 6nm SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, the performance is one of the best in the range. It also has Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology, which can add up to 5GB to the existing 8GB RAM.
The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. It has a bezel below the screen.
Coming to the button placements, the power button is present on the right side. The dual SIM slot is on the left, along with the volume rockers. The 3.5 mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. Audio from the speaker is good. The phone also has Dolby Atmos.
Coming to the camera, the phone has a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.79 aperture and Samsung GM1 sensor. It has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel 4cm macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. It supports up to 4K 30 fps video recording, and there is also 720p portrait video option. Check out some camera samples below.
Coming to the design, the phone has a kevlar design on the back with a gradient finish. The phone is 7.99mm thin, and weighs 181 grams since it packs a 5000mAh battery. The phone has support for 33W fast charging that can charge up to 50% in 31 minutes.
Priced starting at Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, the phone will be available from realme.com, Amazon.in and offline stores starting from May 26th.
